Self Drive Tours

For the explorers, those who “go with the flow” and travel at their own pace, DesignAfrique offers a selection of travel packages consisting of pre-booked accommodation, paired with the free movement, that only an individual rental car can offer!

​We offer self-drive tours in South Africa, Namibia and Botswana. Whilst self-driving in South Africa and Namibia is an excellent way to experience the vast and varied landscapes of Africa, we do not recommend self-drive tours in the Botswana region for travellers who do not have very extensive 4×4 driving experience and/or have taken official classes on advanced 4×4 driving. 

​Botswana’s Safari Destinations have absolutely no infrastructure in the form of roads, emergency hospitals or cell phone signal – this region is nothing but true wilderness, with tricky terrain and barely any civilization. If you get stuck in the mud/sand, run out of spare tyres, or require emergency medical assistance, this is an unforgiving region to find yourself in, and Botswana is therefore not suitable for non-experienced mobile camping travellers.
